What is a Tag? How to create a Tag & Add it to a Verbatims?

This article helps users understand what a Tag is and how to create tags and apply them to verbatim responses in Text Analysis.

What is a Tag?

A Tag is a keyword or label used to categorize and organize open-ended responses (verbatims). Tags help group similar responses together so that you can analyze patterns and insights from customer feedback.

Using tags allows you to:

  • Identify common topics in customer responses

  • Group similar feedback together

  • Filter responses by themes

  • Perform sentiment and text analysis on categorized feedback

Tags are shared across the team, meaning once a tag is created by any team member, it becomes available for everyone in the project.

How to Create Tags

Tags can be created directly from the Train Verbatim section.

Steps to Create Tags

  1. Go to Text Analytics → Train Verbatim.

  2. In the Manage Tag section, click Add Tags.

  3. You will see the following options:

  • Generate AI Tags – Automatically generate tag suggestions using AI.

  • Add Tags Manually – Create a tag manually.

  • Import from Survey – Import tags from an existing survey.

  • Import from CSV – Upload tags using a CSV file.

AI can automatically suggest relevant tags based on your survey responses.

Steps:

  1. Click Add Tags → Generate AI Tags.

  2. A Tags Suggestion window will appear.

  3. Provide the required details:

Steps:

  2. In the Add Tag window, enter:

  • Tag Name – Name of the tag (example: Pricing, Delivery, Customer Support).

  • Tag Description (optional) – A short explanation of the tag.

  • Keywords – Add related keywords separated by commas.

Example keywords:

price, pricing, cost, cheap, expensive, rate

Keywords help automatically tag verbatims when those words appear in responses.

Multiple tags can be added to a single verbatim if the feedback relates to multiple topics.
