Channel Details
1. Anonymous Link
Every survey in SurveySensum comes with a built-in Anonymous
Link — a ready-to-use, permanent survey URL that is shown at the top of the
Share Tab.
What is an Anonymous Link?
An anonymous link is a shareable survey URL that allows anyone
to take your survey — no login or personal invitation required. You can share
this link via email, WhatsApp, your website, social media, or any other
communication channel you use to reach respondents.
It is called "anonymous" because, by default, it
does not collect identifying information such as a respondent's name or email
address. However, it does still collect the respondent's channel name, country,
and browser data.
Key Things to Know
• No Limit on Responses: By default, there is no
limit on how many times the link can be used. You can disable Multiple
Submissions in survey settings to prevent duplicates.
• Permanent Link: The anonymous link never
changes, even if you pause, resume, or edit and republish the survey.
• Open Access: Anyone with the link can fill out
the survey while it is active. Enable Invitation Only mode in survey settings
to restrict access.
• Close the Survey: You can pause or close the
survey at any time to stop collecting responses.
Customize Your Survey URL
SurveySensum allows you to customize the subdomain in your
survey's anonymous link, making it more recognizable and on-brand. By default,
the link uses the subdomain cxm (e.g.,
https://cxm.surveysensum.com/[SurveyCode]). After customization it becomes: https://[YourSubdomain].surveysensum.com/[SurveyCode].
You can update your subdomain from Account
Settings → Branding & Survey URL. Note that subdomain changes apply to all
surveys in your account and you are allowed only a limited number of changes
2. Send Email
The Send Email channel is used when you want to send surveys
directly to known respondents through their email addresses. It is ideal for
collecting NPS, CSAT, or post-interaction feedback, and supports personalized
invitations with precise response tracking.
Reminder Emails
Schedule automated follow-up reminders to increase response
rates. Configure who receives reminders — Non-Responders, Partial Responders,
or Both — and set the timing and custom message for each reminder.
Campaign Report
Automatically send survey response reports to designated
recipients. Configure the report recipients, CC emails, and when report
delivery should end (on campaign expiry or a custom date).
Every time you click Send Email, a new email campaign is created. Access all previously sent campaigns from the Sent Campaigns section in the left sidebar.
3. Share via Multiple Channels
The Multiple Channels option lets you run a single survey
campaign across Email, WhatsApp, and SMS simultaneously. Instead of creating
separate campaigns for each channel, you can manage your entire multi-channel
outreach from one place, making it especially useful for large-scale or
time-sensitive surveys.
View all your active and past Multiple Channel campaigns under the Multiple Channels section in the left sidebar (Sent Campaigns)4. Share via CRM
The Share via CRM channel allows you to distribute surveys
directly through your integrated CRM platform. This is particularly useful when
you want survey invitations to originate from your CRM system and have
responses automatically linked to CRM records.

4. Social Link
The Social Link option makes it easy to share your survey
directly on social media platforms. SurveySensum supports sharing on Facebook,
Twitter/X, LinkedIn, and other platforms through the Social Link dropdown.
When shared via social media, the source platform is automatically recorded as embedded data in each response, so you can filter and analyze responses by social media channel. 5. SurveySensum Audience
The Audience channel lets you target a specific segment from
your SurveySensum contacts for focused, high-quality feedback collection. You
can define the audience based on contact properties and distribute the survey
only to those who match your targeting criteria.

6. QR Code
Generate a scannable QR code for your survey to enable
in-person or physical-world distribution. The QR code links directly to your
survey's anonymous link — respondents simply scan it on their device to open
and complete the survey.
Common Use Cases
• Printed on product packaging, receipts, or invoices
• Displayed at physical locations (store counters, event
booths, posters)
• Used in print marketing materials or brochures
How to Generate a QR Code
1. Go to the Share Tab and click QR Code.
2. Configure any required fields (e.g., campaign name).
3. Click Save or Generate to create the QR code.
4. Click Download QR Code to save it as a PNG image for
use in print or digital materials.
QR Code distributions do not track identifying
respondent information — responses collected this way are anonymous.
7. Embed in a Website and Mobile
The Embed option allows you to integrate the survey directly
into your website or web application, collecting contextual feedback without
redirecting users away from your site. This is one of the most powerful
channels for in-product feedback and continuous user research.
Appearance Layouts
• Pop-Up: The survey appears as an overlay popup.
Choose Left, Center, or Right alignment and customize width and height.
• Full Screen: The survey takes up the entire
screen for maximum attention.
• Sidebar: The survey appears as a persistent tab
on the left or right side of the page. You can customize the tab text and
color.
• Embed Inside View: Embed the survey inline
within a specific HTML container (div) on your page.
Targeting Options
Control exactly when and where the survey appears on your
site:
• By URL: Target specific pages using Exact Match,
Starts With, Ends With, or Contains operators.
• By JavaScript Trigger: Fire the survey based on
a specific user action (e.g., after a user signs up or completes a purchase).
Control when the survey launches on the targeted page:
• Immediately after page load
• After a configurable time delay (in seconds)
• When the user is about to leave the page
• When the user scrolls halfway down the page
You can also configure how often the survey repeats for users who declined it, or turn off repetition entirely.
Review and Activate
Before going live, review all your appearance and targeting
settings in the Review & Activate step. Toggle the embed ON or OFF, and
copy the generated code snippet to paste into your website's HTML.
8. WhatsApp
The WhatsApp channel allows you to send your survey to
respondents via WhatsApp messages — one of the most widely used messaging apps
globally. This channel is ideal when your audience is more reachable on
messaging apps than through email, delivering high open rates and quick
responses.
9. SMS
Distribute your survey via text message (SMS) to reach
respondents directly on their mobile phones. SMS is particularly effective for
short, transactional surveys (such as post-service NPS) where immediate
feedback is required and email open rates may be lower.
10. Outlook Add-In
The SurveySensum Outlook Add-In lets you share survey links or
embed survey invitations directly from Microsoft Outlook, making it seamless to
distribute surveys as part of your regular email communications without
switching between tools.
11. Unique Links
The Unique Links channel generates individual, trackable
survey URLs for each respondent in a contact list. This feature is ideal when
you want to send surveys through an external email or SMS service (outside
SurveySensum) but still need to track which respondent submitted which
response.
How It Works
1. Navigate to the Share Tab and click Unique Links.
2. Click Generate Links and select the contact list.
3. Set a campaign name and an expiry date for the links.
4. Click Generate. Once ready, download the CSV file.
5. Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets and use the
unique link for each contact in your external mailing or SMS service.
Unique Links can also be used when you want to avoid uploading sensitive information (such as medical or financial data) to SurveySensum. Use a masked custom User ID instead to preserve respondent privacy.
All Share Summary
The All Share Summary table at the bottom of the Share Tab
provides a consolidated view of all your active and past distribution campaigns
across all channels. Use this table to monitor, manage, and compare the
performance of each campaign.
Column | What It
Shows |
Distribution
Channel | The type of channel used
(e.g., Email Campaign, QR Code, WhatsApp, Website Embed) |
Send Date | The date and time the survey
was first distributed through that channel |
Responses | Total number of responses
collected through that specific channel |
Status | Indicates whether the
channel is Active or Paused. Toggle to pause or resume at any time |
Action | Options to View, Clone,
Edit, or Delete the distribution campaign |
You can pause all distribution channels at once by clicking the Pause Response Collection button at the top of the Share Tab. This is useful when you need to temporarily stop collecting responses across all channels.
Survey Distribution via Automation
In addition to the manual sharing channels described above,
SurveySensum supports automated survey distribution through the Automation
module. Automations allow you to trigger survey delivery based on specific
events or on a recurring schedule — without any manual effort.
There are two types of Automation triggers for survey
distribution:
1. Schedule-Based Automation
A Schedule-Based Automation sends surveys automatically at a
set time and frequency (e.g., daily, weekly, or monthly). This is ideal for
recurring feedback programs such as periodic NPS surveys or monthly CSAT
check-ins.
Schedule-Based Automation is ideal for high-volume, recurring surveys. Set it once and let SurveySensum handle distribution automatically.
2. Event-Based Automation
An Event-Based Automation triggers survey distribution when a
specific event occurs in your system — for example, when a support ticket is
created or closed, or when a customer interaction is logged. This enables
real-time, contextually relevant survey delivery.
With Event-Based Automation, you can chain multiple actions together. For example: Ticket Resolved → Wait 2 hours (Time Delay) → Send Survey (Survey Share) → Notify Team (Set Notification)
