An anonymous link is a shareable survey URL that allows
anyone to take your survey — no login or personal invitation required. You can
share this link via email, WhatsApp, your website, social media, or any other
communication channel you use to reach respondents.
It is called "anonymous" because, by default, it does not collect identifying information such as a respondent's name or email address.
However, please note that the anonymous link will still collect the
respondent's Channel's name, Country and Browser data.
Key Things to Know
- No Limit on Responses: By default, there is no
limit on how many times a respondent can use the anonymous link. If you want to
prevent duplicate submissions, you can Disable the Multiple
Submissions option in your survey settings.
- Link Stays the Same: The anonymous link for a
survey never changes. Even if you pause, resume, or edit and republish your
survey, the link will always remain the same.
- Anyone Can Access It: By default, whenever your
survey is active, the anonymous link can be filled out by anyone with the link.
If you wish to restrict access, you can enable Invitation Only mode in
your survey setting options.
- You can't share the Anonymous link anymore
- It will show expired survey if someone has the anonymous link .
- Closing the Survey: To stop collecting
responses, you can pause or close the survey at any time. The link will then
show a message that the survey is no longer active.
- Set the limit on Response collection through Anonymous link and Close the survey.
How to Access Your Anonymous Link
- Open Your Survey- Navigate to the survey you want to share.
- Go to the Share Tab. Click on the Share option from the survey menu.

an email, WhatsApp message, website, or any platform you use to reach your
respondents.
Customize Your Survey URL
SurveySensum allows you to customize the subdomain in
your survey's anonymous link, making it more recognizable and on-brand for your
organization.
This is a feature in SurveySensum that gives you
control over how your survey URL appears to respondents.
After customization, the link format becomes: https://[YourSubdomain].surveysensum.com/[SurveyCode]
How to Customize Your Survey Subdomain
To set a custom subdomain, follow these steps:
- Go to Account Settings. Click on your setting and select Account Settings.
- Open Branding & Survey URL. Click on the Branding
& Survey URL tab at the top of the settings page.
Locate the Subdomain Section. Scroll to the section
titled "Customize your survey's Subdomain.
Enter Your Custom Subdomain. In the input field
next to https://, type your desired subdomain name (e.g., your company or brand
name). The domain will always end with .surveysensum.com.
Click Update Subdomain. Click the Update
Subdomain button to save your new subdomain. Note: You can only make a limited
number of subdomain changes, so choose carefully.
Switch Between Subdomains. If you have
previously saved multiple subdomains, they will appear under "Other URL
Subdomain." Click Switch to this Subdomain to activate any of your saved
subdomains

Changing your subdomain will update the survey
URL for all surveys in your account. Make sure to communicate the new
link to your respondents if they are using a previously shared URL.
You are allowed only a limited number of
subdomain changes per account. A warning message will appear when you are
approaching your limit.
